WE CAN! of Colorado Core Values
All human beings should be treated with respect and dignity regardless of their disability. No one should be identified by or discriminated against due to their disability.
All individuals have the opportunity to be whole, contributing and challenged. Achieving these three things includes:
empowerment which includes taking responsibility for oneself,
self-determination and
pro-active wellness.
Recovery is possible. 'All people can learn, grow and change.
People have the right to direct their own affairs, including services they receive related to mental wellness.
The involvement of people who use mental health services is essential to effective operation, development, evaluation and governance of those services.
There must be a promotion of diversity at all levels of the WE CAN! organization.
Our programs will be responsive to and inclusive of people from all cultures including sexual orientation, race, ethnicity and gender.
Partnership, cooperation and collaboration are essential to impacting the funding, improvement and development of the mental health system.
A continuum of care is essential to meet the diverse needs of individuals.
